District ProfileYakima County Fire District No. 5 proudly protects 40,000 people living in an area of approximately 650 square miles. We operate out of 16 fire stations and have 20 paid personnel which include firefighters, dispatchers, mechanics, officers and chief officers and about 200 active volunteers that protect a primarily rural area.
Our Mission/VisionTo provide to the citizens of Yakima County Fire District No. 5, without prejudice or favoritism, protection from the negative effects of explosion, hazardous materials, fires, illness and accidents through fire suppression, fire prevention, public education, emergency rescue services and comprehensive pre-hospital medical care.
