LOGO  Yakima County Fire District No. 5 History History

Yakima County Fire District No. 5 was established on May 27th 1947.  We were led into action by the following fire chiefs and dates of service:

The district responded to 2,544 calls for the year 2007.
The breakdown is as follows:

EMS/Rescue Calls 1,392 55%
Hazardous Condition 35 1%
Service Calls 45 2%
Good Intent 466 18%
False Calls 51 2%

The district has over 100 pieces of apparatus, including pumpers, tenders, brush trucks, rescue trucks, aid vehicles, dozers, support vehicles, command vehicles, maintenance vehicles, utility vehicles, boat, etc. The district owns and operates a Maintenance facility to keep its fleet of apparatus in tip top shape!
