Yakima County Fire District No. 5 was established on May 27th 1947.  We were led into action by the following fire chiefs and dates of service:

The district responded to 2,544 calls for the year 2006.
The breakdown is as follows:

Fire Calls 554 22%
EMS/Rescue Calls 1,343 53%
Hazardous Condition 47 2%
Service Calls 38 1%
Good Intent 509 20%
False Calls 53 2%

The district has over 100 pieces of apparatus, including pumpers, tenders, brush trucks, rescue trucks, aid vehicles, dozers, support vehicles, command vehicles, maintenance vehicles, utility vehicles, boat, etc. The district owns and operates a Maintenance facility to keep its fleet of apparatus in tip top shape!
