Would you like to join our family of volunteer firefighters?

*If this is something you think you are interested in, you should know a few things about what it takes to become part of the volunteer firefighting family. You must live within our district boundaries. Our initial training is a mentored, self study program and you have a year to complete the training. This training includes first aid, all aspects of structural firefighting and initial wildland firefighter training. Once you have completed the application process you will be assigned to the station closest to where you live and a mentor from that station to assist you with your training. You will attend some basic classes and be given a text book and a work book. You will also be given a book of hands-on tasks that you will need to complete and have signed off by your mentor. When you have completed all of the training you will have the skills to continue learning in the fire service. This is an excellent way to get some experience if you are interested in a firefighting career. Firefighting is learned as much on the job as it is in a classroom and you don't become a seasoned firefighter over night. Additionally, you will receive a paycheck monthly for your time. If this is something you are still interested in, then click the link below and give us some information and we will mail you an application. If you have any questions or problems, contact the fire training officer.
